Ruth Amphitheatre

Rock and ice completely surround you in the Ruth Amphitheatre, in Denali National Park. Glaciers feed in from every direction, merging and then flowing out via the Ruth Gorge. In the gorge the ice flow is over one thousand feet thick, pinched between ridiculously high rock faces. The Don Sheldon cabin, an inholding in the park, sits on a small ridge in the amphitheatre, the perfect vantage point for surveying the peaks. Oh, and it's a pretty nice place to warm up in front of the fireplace too.
